Meet Our Family

Hi there – I am Annie and have owned and loved this salon since 2004.  After becoming a hair stylist and esthetician, I became an educator, traveling Canada to become a Platform Artist.  I taught both styling and esthetics later in the private system.   Coming from such a background, I believe strongly in ongoing education and implemented an Apprenticeship Programme here at Hairscape.  We keep current with the latest hair trends through internal and outside classes.  It is a pleasure to cultivate the talents of our adept staff by encouraging them to perfect all of our offerings and in particular those they enjoy most.  Cora and Colleen are our star barbers, while Danielle and I enjoy colour and colour corrections together with esthetics.  We are fortunate to have a varied clientele that also includes International individuals, senior men and women and children.  We offer great hair styling and esthetics for reasonable prices.
When you enter our salon, you will find a relaxed but professional atmosphere staffed with easy-going perfectionists.  We look forward to meeting you soon.

Colleen here and welcome!
Toronto trained and experienced.  In 1991 she came to this very location and worked for the previous salon.  When Annie bought the shop and named it Hairscape in 2004, she was here to greet her and first to join “The Hairscape Family”.  Colleen loves seniors.  We call her “The Perm Queen” and with good reason. She takes great joy in helping her clients get the cut, style and perm that is easy care and makes them feel good.  Colleen is a highly sought after barber.  From trim and cut they leave relaxed and happy.  On the good weather days you’ll find Colleen in her backyard soaking up the sun with her Grandpuppy.

Cora here!
Cora joined “The Hairscape Family” in the fall of 2016.  When she started, barbering had been her passion.  She enjoys doing men’s hair and has long since mastered the hot towel shave.  Cora has been delighted to learn so many new techniques and skills, including current trends from her co-workers and attending classes.  Her clientele now includes many women with chic hairstyles created by our multi-talented Cora.  While Cora is busy at work, she is has lots to keep her busy at home.  Hockey and baseball are just two other teams to which she belongs.   Spending time with her three boys is Cora’s greatest pleasure.

Danielle here!
When you come into the shop, just look for “The girl with the blue hair and tattoos”.  Being both a Stylist and Esthetician, she is a great addition to Hairscape. Danielle joined the team as an apprentice in May 2017.  Since completing her excellent education at Georgian, we were fortunate to have Danielle join the team as an apprentice.  This young woman hasn’t stopped.  She has developed her natural talent into an impressive skillset: hair colour; cutting and esthetics.  Her waxing is second to none.  She has absorbed and participated in in-house training and off-site continuing education.  Kids are enthralled with her unique methods of cutting their hair.  She can be found occasionally in the toy corner trimming and giggling with them.   Interested and involved, she is an excellent source of information of all things hair and product. Her talents include treating curly hair; Balayage/Blonde/hair painting colour services; hair smoothing treatments. She loves her gardens, cooking, hiking and her wee animals.

Liz is our newest addition to “The Hairscape Family”.  Another Georgian College alumni, coming to us from a Nursing background.  She then realized that Hairstyling is a creative field that she enjoys very much.  She loves to work with people to help them feel and look as well as they can.  She is just starting her Apprenticeship, and is already a very promising new member of our Team.  Formerly a client of our Danielle, she enjoyed the atmosphere so much, she decided this is a great place to learn and sharpen her skills.  We know multi-tasking will be no challenge for Liz as she is the mother of five!
